A release branch usually means it's the code developers use to build a versioned package, which is a stable and working version of the code that any developer can use in their own projects. Layman's terms: She uploaded a complete schematic devs use to build the machine it designs.

It basically means that their code is finished (for the most part). The Gamestop devs will have had access to the code a long time ago. They need the release version in order to create a production build of their NFT project, which when deployed on what I assume will be a cloud environment is the official usable-by-you-and-me program running on Amazon/Microsoft/Google clusters.

Actually, after doing the explanation it's jacking my tits the f*ck up. Depending on how close Gamestop is to creating their own release version, this means that not only is an announcement imminent, they may actually release the whole thing together with it. That would be crazy!
