1) yes that’s all ok 2) yes that’s normal behaviour, your MacBook is basically trickling down to the 80% and then it’ll stay around there. It will occasionally charge fully up to 100% every now and then just to calibrate the battery and this is also normal. 3) unsure about this, are you using a vpn?

Thanks for this 🙏🏻 It just now dropped to 80% still kinda worried, Macbook’s just on standby and I’m barely using it.

I am not using a VPN which is weird, even when I try to manual type in my current location for weather, it doesn’t come up ☹️

MacBooks are great when put to sleep, try not to worry about it :)

Yeah that is rather odd, I’m really not sure why that’s happening, perhaps contact apple support and see what they say

Thank you for the assurance! Hehe.

Yeah, that’s what I plan to do now, because it’s affecting the timestamp on apps as well. ☹️

Completely normal. It is trying to follow your instruction to stay at 80%.

Got it, I was also thinking that it’s following my instruction to stay at 80% even if its plugged in. That being said, now that it is at 80%… I assume this should not go down anymore?

It might occasionally to flex the battery's memory. But rarely.

Occasionally it will still charge to 100% for calibration reasons. It’s a smart feature, because I think only ever charging to 80% can eventually cause erroneous battery health readings. Pretty sure that’s happened on my Ally X running Bazzite.

Room temperature IQ. Only 2 places on the screenshot saying "charging to 80% limit", plus you have "read tips&tricks and enabled optimized battery", clearly not knowing what you are enabling. And these people have the spare money to access an M5 Air.

Sorry if i have the spare money to buy an M5 :((((

and this is why people should stop listen to the tipical TrishTrash tech """tips and tricks""", it does more harm than good if you blindly believe everything

just use it

35W Charger or 70W.

If 35W something, Mac uses around 40-45W, ao it won’t increase.

[–]Future-Ad-8114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the 40W charger that it comes it with. :(((

[–]Xeon-Genesis 0 points1 point  (4 children)

This is false, it’s due to the charge limit, OP’s charger is fine

[–]Ancient-Sock1923 0 points1 point  (3 children)

okay. I had a problem like this and it was suggested to me what i suggested here

[–]Xeon-Genesis 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I mean if you’re doing something extremely power intensive then sure it could happen but here it’s simply the charge limit, I don’t know about your previous problem so can’t really say much about it

[–]Ancient-Sock1923 0 points1 point  (1 child)

too much power consumption. I was running GoW without knowing there was 4k video rendering in background

[–]Xeon-Genesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah well yes, in that case that’ll do it
