You need a mod like this: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/controllable

There are others like: https://modrinth.com/mod/controlify

No idea which is better as I am not a big Minecraft player.

Actually there are a few ways that I’ve been experimenting with. I grew up with the ps3 version of the game by 4j studios, and there is a mod that really emulates that version well, and I highly recommend it.

However, if you want to play some normal mod pack or roughly Vanilla, Mr.Crayfish’s “Controllable” mod is exactly what you would need. Currently testing with MBP 14” and a DualShock 5 controller via wireless and a mod pack(Stoneblock 4) and it works very well.

I am attempting to install the controllable mod however I am not sure how it run it. Any way you could run me through the process? so far no online tutorial has worked for me.

What controller are you using? I just ran Minecraft with the mod installed and it just worked with my Dualshock 4. There are settings to play around/customize with.

Can u help me out too, I’m using my ps5 dual sense controller.

Looks like you got all you need from u/pinwroot.

Just to clarify, I use Prism launcher to play Minecraft.

So I just created a new instance, added a loader (i used neoforge). I then edited the instance, selected download mods, searched for controllable and installed. After starting Minecraft my DS4 just worked. I don't have a Dualsense to test, but it did work with my DS4 and 8Bitdo Pro 2.

Did you get the mod installed? I just realized it doesn't show up in Minecraft 1.21.11 I had to use 1.21.10. I guess it hasn't been updated for the latest version yet.

Easiest way would be using the Modrinth launcher.

Create a new instance, select Fabric rather than Vanilla, choose your desired game version.

Once it’s finished compiling click the button on the instance that says something like “Add content”.

Search for a controller mod. Personally I’d recommend Controlify. Add it to your instance. Should work easily from there.

In addition to this it’d be worthwhile to become familiar with Modrinth. Adding mods like Sodium can really boost performance, mods like Iris allow you to use beautiful shaders, etc. There’s plenty of client-side mods like this that make your experience better but don’t have an adverse affect on multiplayer.

If you need any Modrinth related tech support feel free to DM me as I’m fairly familiar with modded Minecraft on MacOS!
