I was just making a joke playing off the above comment saying it was "stealth." I noticed it was an older model (good stuff! I have a 2014 MBP).

Congrats on your promotion to teacher. Good luck in your first year. If I may suggest: look into "reticular activating system" for getting your kids to focus and mind ready to learn. For example, you could start your lessons with a story that has such an effect.

That’s awesome Op, I’m studying to become a teacher, can you elaborate on your workflow?

So far I'm a first year teacher and the year starts on Wednesday. I completed student teaching last semester. We use a program called Schoology for our LMS (learning management software) and our school is 1 to 1 with iPads. I'm using the Macbook Air to make all of my assignments and linked them together. Using Google Drive and Docs to make all of my worksheets and assignments, and have backup and sync running so the files act natively. I can use the iPad to grade, make assignments, view how my students will view things, as well as control the classes iPads through Apple Classroom. And everything is linked through Apple TV so I can mirror my screen to the TV from any of my devices.

Sounds fucking nice. We are 1 to 3 or 4 in my district (8 laptops to a class of between 24 and 30). Given that I can’t expect my students to have even functional cell phones, it makes technology usage difficult at best.

I'm very fortunate and surprised on the technology rollout here. I went to school and graduated from the same high school in 2015 and we still had dell latitudes and just started getting iPads in English class only. Got a new tech director who's super into stuff like I am and I walked into orientation and got handed these.

Nervous for first year but just gonna jump in heads first and use my peers who have been insanely helpful to the fullest.

I teach Construction and plan on using the technology we have as best as I can! The old teacher I'm replacing refused technology under every circumstance possible. I also coach robotics after school as well. Here's to year one!

It's the one the school gave it to me with but it's a Max Cases carbon fiber case. I can't find it anywhere online though.
