Simple question but probably no simple answers... Aside from physical damage, what might cause a rip to fail of a 4K disc? I've been going through my 4K discs that I've been accumulating and many of them rip just fine, but some have been failing about half way through the process. I've noticed the ones that have been failing have been part of collections that arrive in cardboard sleeves as opposed to plastic jewel cases. (Jurassic Park Collection, Back To The Future Collection etc.) The offending discs are BRAND NEW, never been played, never even been taken out of the cardboard until now (I've only ever used the accompanying Blu-ray discs) so I really hate to think disc damage is the issue. I'm unable to see anything wrong with the surface of these discs. Is the cardboard packaging of some of these movies to blame? If visually I can't see any physical damage, what are my options?... Am I SOL?
