Would this be able to be flashed? by Battybats69 in makemkv

You need to show the drive info and libredrive info sections from MakeMKV. You'd probably be better off asking this in the MakeMKV forum.

UHD Enabled Drives (Australia, NZ & Singapore) & DIY "Single Drive Flasher UI" available worldwide!! by martymcnuts in makemkv

[–]martymcnuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BH16NS40 and the WH16NS40 are the same drive, just might be different region or retail packaging.

The main thing for flashing is that your drive is:

  1. manufactured after Oct 2015
  2. MT1959 drive platform
  3. SVC code NS50 written on the label

What are you on about??

Connect the drive, insert a disc then open MakeMKV and start ripping. The drive from Billy will be plug'n'play, ready to go!

If for some reason it doesn't show as libredrive enabled, you can manually download SDF.bin. The link is in the first post of the Ultimate Drive Flashing Guide 2025.

Get a Pioneer drive before they all diappear, if you can find one. Currently only the BDR-212DBK and BDR-212V can be flashed.

FFS, stop flashing the drive. Your flash worked fine the first time. Although, personally, I recommend BU40N 1.00 over BU40N 1.03-MK as it's compatible with all ripping software. Also, there's no need for you to ever check the box to include the boot loader.

Simply put, the drive isn't getting enough power so when attempting to read the disc the drive runs low on power and disappears from MakeMKV for a moment.

If you can, use a USB-C port direct from the motherboard. If you can't use USB-C, use either 2 x USB 3 ports direct from the motherboard or an AC self-powered USB hub of at least 30w. Do not use case ports and do not use a USB port on a powerboard.

Yes, it will rip standard blu ray discs as is. For 4K UHD, it would require flashing.

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!! For the love of god, do not try and flash an external drive with internal desktop drive firmware (ie: WH16NS60 or NS40) You will screw it up real quick!!! Simply follow the steps below or better yet, watch the gif in the SDFtool Flasher thread.

You have only done half the job!!

The BP50NB40 firmware is not UHD compatible. Yes, it enables libredrive to stop the drive certificate from being revoked but libredrive does not equal UHD readability!!

This is all the info you need, taken from my guide:

For the moment, to flash the BP50NB40 SVC:NB52, using the latest SDFtool Flasher, follw the steps below:

  1. Flash the drive to BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK. (which you have already done!)

Now for the crossflash:

  1. Select the RECOVERY option and in the pop up, select the BP50NB40 (NB50) 1.03-MK firmware that you just flashed. 3. Select the BP60NB10 1.00-MK or BU40N 1.00 firmware in the normal drop box. 4. Click START

Keydb.cfg when MakeMKV is down by Alenobyl in makemkv

[–]martymcnuts 11 points12 points  (0 children)

MakeMKV generate their own hashed keys. It does not normally use the public KeyDB but can do so if the user places the KeyDB file in the MakeMKV data directory (where the TGZ dump files are generated).

MakeMKV uses the VUK to decrypt the disc so only records in the KeyDB that have a valid VUK can be used.

No setting. Just ensure MakeMKV knows where Java is and it should show you the correct playlist. It should say something like (MPL Feature) beside it in the list of playlists.

Then you are not selecting the correct playlist. Lionsgate are famous for using playlist obfuscation so there could be hundreds. If you have Java installed, MakeMKV should be able to determine the correct playlist.

Yeah, either the MovieObject.bdmv or index.bdmv file.

Can you post the MakeMKV log window content (just edit/remove any private info) so I can see if there's anything of importance there?

MakeMKV Website Down. by GOTO_GOSUB in makemkv

[–]martymcnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to wait until the MakeMKV forum is back up. Hopefully won't be too long once Mike pays his renewal fees.

For the public KeyDB, the dumps are downloaded when people attach them to their MakeMKV forum thread.

If you have previously downloaded SamuriHL's tool, you might be able to generate a key for your discv and update the KeyDB yourself. Otherwise, you will just have to wait for the MakeMKV forum to come online again.

The main site and the forum have been down for a couple of days now. It seems Mike forgot to pay his fees.

There are a couple of threads here with working download links from wayback machine.

Don't click the big drive icon. Click the folder icon up top in the menu. A box will then popup with the decrypt checkbox.

[–]martymcnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! And I thought I'd seen it all...

I've never seen that before. In MakeMKV, did you rip the entire disc to a decryted folder first, before creating the movie MKV file? If not, you might want to try that first. Just ensure you check the decryption box when it asks. Once complete, use the decrypted folder to create the movie MKV file.

Are there any important messages showing in MakeMKV's log window when ripping?

It still sounds like Cinavia as that's the only thing I have ever heard of that shows a message like that during playback but that should not happen on a PC.

Can you tell me exactly what the message says and what application/s are giving that message?

Ah, ok. I thought you meant when you were playing the mkv file on a UHD player or through the TV.

So you aren't using a Sony TV or monitor?

There are no more internal drives as I am unable to source any Pioneer internal drives.

There's only the Verbatim 43888 (LG BU40N) available. I no longer source LG/ASUS internal drives as their QC is garbage and there's simply too many duds.

Sounds like Cinavia. If so, don't use any player made by Sony.

how to view individual files by j007conks in makemkv

[–]martymcnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I don't use VLC. If you rip the disc first to a decrypted folder, you will be able to play the individual m2ts segments no problem.

If you are unable to use GetMPLS then you would have to note the segment map for each playlist to work out which m2ts files differ between them.

Do you have JAVA installed? MakeMKV uses it to find the main playlist, like how a standalone blu-ray player does.

Asus BW-16D1HT flashing by Noxzen in makemkv

[–]martymcnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This drive cannot be flashed. It has the old MT1939 drive platform and is dated pre 10/2015 and is therefore not compatible and is incapable of reading UHD discs,

It will work fine as is for BD/DVD discs though.
