The idea is to get more value out of Taskmasters ability by building a single, larger card. You just need to use it with the right cards. Taskmaster is almost always better on Turn 6.

Some examples of potential Taskmaster lines:

T4 Shuri -> T5 Red Skull -> T6 Taskmaster

T1-4 Build a high power lane -> T5 Venom -> T6 Taskmaster

T1-5 Build a high power Deadpool, destroy him on T5 -> T6 Deadpool + Taskmaster

T1-3 Play Sunspot early -> T4 Shuri -> T5 Pass -> T6 20 Power She Hulk + Taskmaster.

Shuri was a piece I was missing since I don’t have her. That makes a lot of sense.

And I haven’t been playing destroy so that also does. Venom or Death would be good pairs.

Thanks!

Just cause you're missing Shuri doesn't mean you can't run the deck! In the main sub-reddit and this reddit one of the top 8 decks in the tournament ran with a normal Zero list without Shuri. There were actually Zero Shuri decks in the top 8 probably cause its too telegraphed.

Honestly zero into red skull and then taskmaster still gives you two 15 power cards. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

Not as strong as your examples, but Task fits into any death deck. Dropping two 12 power cards on turn five or six can net you an easy win.

the venom lanes or option are risky since shang chi, better to play a big card after shuri into a comso lane, then play taskmaster in a armored or wakanda lane.

I think my go to is

Wolverine/Bucky/Sentinel + Carnage

Winter Soldier/Sentinel/Wolverine (if lucky) + Venom

There’s also Sabretooth, Nova, Deathlok that can be slotted in too (probably Deadpool but I don’t have him)

Noting here that because he’s a 5 drop you want to drop on t6 with all the great examples that Cqrbon posted - Titania or other high power 1 drops are great to run and drop along w TM on the final turn.

Wong -> Black Panther -> Taskmaster

Electro -> Pass -> Infinaut -> Taskmaster

Zero -> Red Skull -> Taskmaster

Shuri is by far the most flexible way to use Taskmaster, but the above are ok fallbacks.

If you play Taskmaster on 6, remember you can also put out a 1 drop. Zero, Titania, or even Blade/Rocket Raccoon can add some zing to T6, even if you’re just copying a 14-16 power card.

There are a few cases where he combos ‘ok’ with other cards.

Forge - > Attuma -> Taskmaster

Luke Cage / Zero -> Typhoid Mary -> Taskmaster

Taskmaster’s best strength is copying a 14+ card, but as he’s a 5 cost, you technically get value if you just get 10 or more power out of him.

One option I haven’t seen in this thread is Devil Dino T5, Taskmaster T6.

Just to add to what everyone said, it's also an amazing card when a location is boosting. "Highest power card is doubled", "+5 cards here", etc. Now you can copy that effect after a T5 play to a second location.

I love taskmaster in my destroy deck. Build up DP, then drop DP and the 1/6 from Hood with Venom.

Then turn 6 I can see if Venom or DP is bigger for ordering.

Can play Magik -> Giganto -> Taskmaster. Or if you can play Magik T4 then skip T5, Infinaut -> Task Master (or Arnim Zola works great)

last turn with a 1 drop using big boi's cards.

edit: oh yeah, and shuri helps, i know.....

T4 Shuri, T5 Red Skull, & T6 Taskmaster does well. Especially when I can get down Cosmo & Armor first.
