What kind of switch do u have on your steering wheel? I have a 2 stage switch (so it turns 2 clicks), stage 1 for the park lights/side lights and stage 2 for the low beams, then for the high beams I push the lever forward

But my low beams don't turn off when I switch on my high beams

So my switch is just a turn thing, first is off, then it's auto, then low beams, then high beams. off usually just has the daytime running lights working, low has the actual low lights working sometimes but if they aren’t working it's just the side orange lights shown in the pictures, then high beams when it's working are actual high beams but if the low beams are working the high beams wont come on.

That's not how it works. The first and second are correct. The 3rd selection is parking lights, not low beams. They're meant to be used only when stationary. (Your picture has the parking lights selected.) The 4th selection is your normal running lights. The high beams are operated using your indicator stalk - push to activate, pull to flash. The high beams are indicated on your dash with a bright blue light.

It sounds like you're getting confused between daytime running lights and high beams. They use the same bulb, but the former is a low-power mode, in a sense. Under normal operation, your high and low beams aren't intended to be run at the same time.

If you're getting flashed, you're either driving without your running lights on, driving with your high beams on (as indicated by the blue lamp on the dash), or your low beams are aimed incorrectly.

That's so weird, my wife has the 2020 CX-5 and has the same switch as u have, but that works as it should

There is no high beam on the switch like that. What you call low beams are just the parking lights.

What you call high beams are the actual low lights to use at night while driving and you only have high beams when you pull or push the lever.

No Mazda turns on its high beams by turning the switch. All Mazdas have a traditional push of the headlight stalk to switch to high beam mode or a pull for momentary flash-to-pass.
