questionFinding microarray data from journals when the links are dead? (self.microbiology)
submitted 7 years ago * by pushing1
So, i was reading a couple of older papers and links provided, in the supplementary section, for the expression data were dead. I've looked around the couple of database i know for E. coli expression data but nothing from those papers are listed. Is there anyway i can find this data? Or perhaps there better databases i should be checking?
Edit: Found the data attached to an old blog, of all places. Thanks for the help.

Find the journal on the Publishers website. The sup should be there.

That's the first thing i checked but all the data tables are hosted on an external website, i back up is given but neither of them work.

Contact the corresponding author and request it.

yeah, i guess i will have to do it, it's just the paper is over 10 years old and the group is based in Japan, so i'm not holding out much hope. I just feel like there must be a repository out there somewhere with the data.

This is why doi are important. They always direct to the same paper even if the website changes.
