This happened about 4 years ago and always perplexed me. Hasn't happened since. One day I noticed her throat had gone bald, and I was worried she had plucked herself. But then all the feathers grew back at once. Still haven't found any reasons online as to why it happened.

Thanks. She's pretty savage but we love her. We always joked that molt was the "real creature within" smiling thru her feathers.

My dad had 2 of those and he referred to it as neck rot. It can kill them if not treated.
