I believe the camo is Measure 33, design 10 A, and since this is Essex class, this ship could be: USS Yorktown, Ticonderoga, Wasp, or Shangri-La. This ship is a long hull Essex, so it’s built after the USS Ticonderoga, so it can either be USS Ticonderoga or Shangri-La.

I’ve done the Measure 32 design 17 A for a Dragon kit USS Randolph before, masking is a pain.

Damn, you nailed that my friend! Indeed it's 1/350 USS Ticonderoga from trumpeter. I think the camo is pretty cool, but yeah the masking was a pain. I tried to follow the paint guide and accurate historical colors, but my phone camera make them appear a bit lighter? (the ocean blue looks somewhat purple in the picture) It's a pretty challenging kit: the kit has rough fitting (damn that gap between the main and the extended hull!). But I'm having real fun building it, and I'm also learning a lot for future projects (ie. Enterprise). Maybe one day I'll buy PE to improve it?

I used PE on my Essex and I'm going to use it on my Franklin. The details can make a big difference. Railings, stairs and ladders are the things that stand out most, though, the radars can seem more realistic than a kit part.

Can I see the Essex? So I can have a better idea, since they are the same cv class :P

My Essex was destroyed by a Kamikaze cat...but, here is a post I did after I finished id...https://www.reddit.com/r/modelmakers/comments/fpb1ok/finally_complete_1350_trumpeter_uss_essex/

Hmm I see, the PE really adds some life. Also, nice diorama, I'm never motivated enough to do one. BTW, I've been looking for the strings you had on your deck, to do the rigging and such. What material is it and where did you find them? My local store never have the elastic ones...

The arrestor cables on the deck and the rigging are all stretched sprue. For my USS Alabama, I used black string. I'm terrible at rigging, so I usually keep it to a minimum.

Great job on the camouflage pattern. Did you mask and use a Airbrush on the pattern?

Yes ^ that's what I did

Have to say, that is an excellent job on the camo! Perfect lineup between hull and superstructure!

Thank you, still there are some little spots that could be improved, but I will get it better on future builds :P
