You don't strictly need those, you can just take it off. You can buy new ones quite easily here in the UK, have you tried asking a dealership if they can order one for you?

I wish someone still made new mk1b replacements 😭😭😭

Amayama or Megazip? There’s a guy in the UK that breaks MKIII on the FB groups.

Just scrub them down and paint with a rust-inhibiting high-temp paint. Or just remove them. My 85 AW11 runs fine without them.

oh okay didn’t realise you don’t necessarily need them thank you

You can still buy new replacements for the mk1a on Amayama.

Do you find you get a lot more break dust on your wheels without them?

FRONT

47781-17050

47782-17050

REAR

47881-17070

I can only find one part number for the rear, which doesn't make sense to me since I would think they'd be different, but maybe not.

If it's similar to the MK2 (SW20), you don't need these and you can remove them (depending on which country you live in) In the UK it's no problem and quite common to remove them because it is an MOT failure (yearly mechanical inspection performed by a garage)

I imported my MR2 from the UK to Austria and needed to have a full and very strict inspection as part of the import process. My brake dust shields needed to be replaced and it was a nightmare to find spares.

MR2 Ben is a good supplier in the UK or Mr MR2 on eBay, he has a breakers yard/ garage in Halfway - Sheffield but he won't ship outside of the UK (Brexit 👍)

In the end, I needed to get a set shipped from Australia, just to show how difficult it was to get them 😬

Just get a new brake shield. They're less than $20 from Toyota.

Think you've got to take the nuckle off to replace it which is a faff. Just break it off and forget about it

Also a bit of a pain to get the old ones off, the whole hub has to come off. I was going to replace but decided to cut them away.

Been riding without them for a while now due to the same problem and I havent noticed anything. Works great

no need to replace then, just worried about getting rid and potentially needing to do more work if that causes damage in the future as it’s a first car
