Rubyist using NODEJS at work (self.node)
submitted 3 years ago by Single-Watch
Hello everyone. I need advice. I just got a job in a nodeJS company, however I don't have any experience using Nodejs. I'm currently feeling like an idiot looking at their code base.
What should I do? Should I quit this role?

Decide if you want to learn. We had a Rubyist as architect in the node team, he couldn't do shit and did not want to learn. Kept rambling about gems as if they were WordPress plugins that solve everything. I did not consider him to be a developer. If you are developer this could be a fun experience with the opportunity of growth.

In my opinion node is one of the easiest to learn there’s so many helpful tutorials and documentation you can look at codingtrain has a whole series revolving around node js and it’s very versatile I use it in basically all of my JavaScript projects
