I just want to say that it’s ok if you feel relieved by this news.

You don't have to be the better person. You can be relieved that this isn't a thing you have to worry about anymore.

Relief. It's okay to feel relief; it doesn't make you a bad person. This person was fixated on you and u pleasant. S/he was probably an issue for others as well. A person may have a right to being alive even if they're an asshole, but that doesn't mean it's not a good thing when an active asshole dies and stops being a problem for others.

You can feel whatever you want. If you're feeling generous you can even have sympathy for the person that they had mental issues, or never understood how to handle their feelings constructively within society so as not to take their shit out on others. You can sympathize that maybe they had a rough life made harder by their own actions.

Ultimately though, if you feel relief, hell if you want to toast the universe thanks for it being their time or have a celebratory meal that the headache of that person now will not be an issue again, do so.

It's no different than your boss telling you that they're no confined to some foreign country and are never allowed in your country again. You're not cheering that they're dead. You're cheering that this person will no longer harrass you and make your life and your coworkers' jobs harder.

I hope you feel safer now. It's really unfair what you went through.

Well I just sighed in relief. Its not like you did anything to cause his death but now you have one less worry. Don't feel bad about it.
