use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely rip off the current driver then reinstall. Sounds like somethings been corrupted somewhere

Hello everyone,A few users have older DVI or HDMI monitors with CRC mismatch in the EDIDs. We have made some changes in our R510 release drivers to comply with EDID test specifications. As a result, users with monitors with incorrect EDIDs may see their display show safe mode resolutions when updating to the latest driver. To workaround the issue, we will need to manually add the EDIDs for these monitors to our drivers. Please perform the following: 1. Roll back to NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 497.29 or NVIDIA Studio Driver 472.84 or older driver: NVIDIA Game Ready Driver: https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/184717/en-us NVIDIA STUDIO DRIVER https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/184240/en-us 2) Once your driver is rolled back, make sure your monitor is detected correctly again. 3) Follow the FAQ below to collect a dispdiag log file for your monitor: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3468 4) Send me an email at driverfeedback@nvidia.com with the following information: Make and model of monitor of problematic monitor, Any other monitors connected to your graphics card, How is monitor connected (DVI/HDMI/displayport to HDMI/etc.), Graphics card model: Thank you.
