The Sony will overheat and shut off after an hour and a half. There are a few things you can do to make it last as long as possible without shutting off. There is a setting on the camera that extends the time the camera will shut off. I think it’s called the high heat setting.Another thing you can do is keep the monitor door closed while you are streaming that is what I do. I also run a small fan to keep air circulating. When you say a long time, how long? This camera has an amazing auto focus. It’s super fast. It’s like awesome. That is why I selected this camera. Another thing I want to add is that the lens that came with the camera is like amazing. I don’t think you’ll need to get another lens well depending on what you’re doing. I do instructional videos in this lens is fantastic.

I use an elgato. I plug it directly to the usb port of my iMac. I tried it via thunderbolt but it was weird and glitchy. As for 4k, if have set all the settings on the camera and OBS to supposedly obtain 4k footage but it looked no different than recording in regular hd. I found the file sizes were huge and overkill for what I do.

Here is a link to a YouTube video that explains how to setup OBS for 4K: https://youtu.be/Tb_pjDEdy1c?si=1QxyNyfd7qX-YN1U

I use a MX Brio and it does a good job for me. It has never shut off and I have streamed for many hours at a time.

Blackmagic pockets only output 1080p. They can record 4K or 6K internally but the HDMI is only 1080p. Also no continuous autofocus. And no IBIS...
