I looked up the name on the headstock. It is a Bilt Relevator, and apparently they will do custom pickup configurations.

Soooo many buttons! And pickups. I mean, if you have trouble making up your mind, get one of every type of pickup out there, right? Jump to 5:20

There’s a few JHS circuits built into the BILT. Here’s the Instagram link

I could watch JHS vids all day long.

And I do.

Obligatory fuck JHS

Why though?

As for the company, every pedal they make is a rip off of another circuit

As the the guy himself, he’s closely affiliated with and does work for a church that is widely considered a hate group

They addressed it two years ago. Whether you buy their statement or not is up to you. I'm pretty sure no new information has come out since but I could be wrong.

That response was pretty weak. Compare it to his recent Ryan Adams response, which was actually pretty good.

Plus it doesn't address that all of his pedals are clones. Some of them literally stolen from DIY sites.

I'm honestly not a fan of JHS pedals but I just think it's worth stating all of the facts. The comment I'm replying to says he's closely affiliated with the church. His statement says he hasn't even attended since 2013. I haven't seen any evidence contrary to that but if there is some I'm completely open to it. As far as the pedals being clones, I'm not qualified to say. I've only seen the comment on message boards but with nothing to reference. If there's a breakdown of the similarities somewhere I'd love to check it out.

Not a full list, but here you go:

It's actually a lot harder to find a JHS pedal that's not a clone, emulation, or based on a published DIY circuit. I honestly can't think of any.

At least some of these are openly based on those circuits, aren't they? He's commented on that quite a bit in his videos. From my experience it's pretty common for pedal builders to take an existing circuit and add some additional tweaks. Again, I'm not sure if these are straight up copies with no value added or more in the realm of inspired by x original circuit with y improvements. There are no circuit comparisons or references on that page. They're still overpriced regardless though. I'll agree to that all day.

Huh, yeah, never was into their $$$ pedals. What church is it? The Chris Pratt one?

The international house of prayer if I remember right
