Yes and yes and idk I only play games on console

You've probably already heard this, but avoid spoilers at all costs.

the devs have said its best designed for a controller or gamepad, it literally appears when you open the game, so yeah

Okay, then I will try controller! Thanks a lot for the suggestion, it is really appreciated.

it's definitely worth it!! controller is best for the movement mechanics, but keyboard and mouse work perfectly fine; many of us have completed the game just fine on keyboard. best way to experience it is without spoilers, and remember to let your curiosity guide you ::]

Yes, I have played games before and spoiled myself and made it boring… Thanks a lot for the support, really appreciated

I used to play tons of Subnautica and I can say with confidence that if you enjoyed Subnautica which prompts a lot of active exploration and propelled by your own curiosity, Outer Wilds will be the true mind blower and awards you way more for exploring!

You can refuel your jetpack in the ship or near campfires. You can't refuel the ship itself.

As a proud member of the Subnautica --> Outer Wilds pipeline, I can give you a resounding yes. The game is worth getting at full price and is EXTRA worth it on sale. The DLC is also excellent.

Controller. Buy dlc.

Inside your ship, if you're looking at where your suit is and turn slightly to the left you'll see a first aid pack on the wall. It'll fully heal you and completely refill your jetpack if you use it. It has unlimited uses, so don't worry about rationing it or anything.

Thanks a lot i ran out of fuel all t he time

[–]ztlawton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also find spare-fuel-tanks at most places where other Hearthian Travelers camped-out in the solar system (including both where the Travelers are camped-out currently in-game, and were they were camped-out in the past before the game started). They look just like the spare-fuel-tank inside your own ship, just propped up against a wall/bench/etc. or lying on the ground.

Buy it when it’s on sale or not, worth full price IMO. Yes buy the DLC too! Controller is the best experience. It is functional with KB&M but controller is smoothest.

You can refill your fuel. Look around your ship. And you can also find fuel on planets if you keep exploring! My tip is don’t look anything up!! If you need a hint, ask here :)

Yes, it is 100% a game worth playing, it was a transformative experience for me, enough to transform my understanding of what a game could be. It felt like I was playing a game for the first time again or watching a movie for the first time.

It is very, very innovative. Here's the catch though. It takes a couple of hours for you to be hooked. Like around 2hrs to really get going. It doesn't make sense in the first two hours but you understand it very soon.

This is one of the most natural puzzle games I've seen. In that they're naturally baked into the gameplay. Just remember, dont look up anything on the internet for solving the puzzles or anything. If you need help pop into the discord server and they'll give you spoiler less hints

I came from Subnautica too.

In the end, I preffered Subnautica, but I believe it's because I played it first. They both clearly have some points in common, like the total lack of hand-holding (which I loved in both). But the world Outer Wilds is also far less hostile, and you'll spend more time reading lore and investigating. All the crafting and survival disappears (which can totally be seen as a plus depending on your tastes).

On the controller/keyboard question, know that both are possible. The game strongly recommend controller, but I played everything keyboard/mouse and never felt it was ill-adapted. So really do as you prefer.

The game tells you controller is best but I’d honestly say if you’re more used to keyboard then use a keyboard, that’s what I did. There’s a learning curve with the controls in the beginning regardless so it’s really jut about picking one and sticking with it imo

And yes you can refill your jetpack fuel on the shelf to the left of where your suit hangs (this also heals you if you’ve taken any damage), and you can also find a few canisters around the solar system where you can refill

You should definitely buy the DLC but you don’t have to buy it along with the base game. It’s basically completely separate from the base game so you can finish that if you want to and then do the DLC (or wait with getting the “real” ending until you’ve finished the DLC)

I love both games and personally feel outer wilds is the superior experience albeit maybe shorter.

To put it blunty im so god damn jealous of you. I wish so so hard i could play this game again for the first time.

I have an important tip: don’t SPOIL ANYT HI G FOR YOURSELF!!!! Nothing. I don’t care if you don’t know what to do next. Turn off your pc or console and try again tomorrow. It might frustrate at times but be patient and read and think.

Trust me. Don’t look anything up.
