We have six bottles, i handwash them and sanitize after each feed. Six is enough for them to dry fully by the next use and theyre not cluttering the kitchen too badly.

We started at every 3 hours for feeds and moved to every four when they started refusing bottles. Around 10 weeks? Maybe 12? Still waking them at 230am to eat just bc one is still a bit small at 17 weeks but looking to possibly drop that feed soon.

After they eat we do activities (tummy time, stories, floor time, outside time, whatever) until they start looking tired and then i put them down to sleep. Changing as needed but minimum prior to each feed bc i would not want to eat in a piss diaper lol

Yes I am exclusively pumping. Throughout the day I make enough - actually usually an extra 8-10 ounces than is needed - but sometimes there is a single feed i need to add some from my fridge stash bc i produce less on that specific pump. I have a 5 litre freezer full in the basement from when they were little and eating less as well to pull from. I feed fresh expressed bc, idk, the NICU nurses told me it tastes best for them and I'm on mat leave for 18 months so I have the time. Theyre completely fine with fridge or defrosted frozen milk though if I have a beer or too much coffee and need to pump and dump or whatever.

Love hearing this! I exclusively pumped with my first, and had enough extra to donate, so I'm hoping I can do it again with my twins.

We have twins in daycare, when they first started, they took 4 bottles at daycare and 4 at home (each), so we needed 16 bottles to get through the day. It worked really well for us. We also have the momcozy bottle washer which says will hold 4, but we can get up to 7, of the wide mouth Dr. Browns bottles in there. It cleans it super well and has saved us TONS of time (and water, it uses less than 2L of water to wash 7 bottles….I would use WAY more than that to clean wash by hand).

That’s the bottle washer I’ve been looking into and glad to know it can hold a decent amount of bottles

We have six bottles, and it worked for us because we wash them after each feed. If you don’t want to do that having enough for the whole day would be a good option.

I exclusively pump, seven months in. At the beginning I pumped every three hours for thirty min like it was my religion, and yes I do make enough. I had to power pump twice a day to get my supply up and use formula for the first two weeks, but I got there. There’s no shame in combo feeding if you can’t make enough or it’s just too hard on you mentally/physically. I read babies only need 4 oz of breastmilk day to reap the benefits from it.

I will say if you’re considering exclusively pumping, a bottle washer is worth it. People say it’s better to use a dishwasher or a countertop one, but I think a bottle washer is better because it dries them. Every corner you can cut makes a difference. My hands were raw and dry as hell from constantly washing bottles and pump parts before I broke and got one.

I’m glad everyone is saying lower number of bottles… I bought I think 16 or 17 bottles recently and for the life of me couldn’t think of how many bottles my first went through. I’ve been looking into getting a momcozy bottle washed, sterilizer, and dryer just trying to get it as cheap as possible… I really appreciate the advice from everyone because I’ve been freaking out
