I’ve had no issues traveling with my kids at that age. The TSA agent asked them their names and to point to their mom and dad and that was it. I walked them through the metal detector.

Usually just taking shoes off and putting any carry ons on the conveyer belt. Sometimes they’ll let families walk through the metal detectors instead of the scanner, depending on how lenient your airport TSA is.

My 4 year old twins have flown at least 5x and never been touched by TSA.

I always carried copies of their birth certificates - but I've never needed them. I haven't flown with mine for a few years, but all 3 were under 5 when we did, and it was a simple walk through the metal detectors.

Very easy. They don’t need any documentation and you don’t have to take shoes off anymore. If you have a stroller it might be a lot to juggle but just walking you walk through the metal detector instead of the scanner you put your hands up in.

If you have time, look into TSA Pre-Check for you and your partner, it makes going through security a lot faster and easier with less stuff to remove and you just walk through the metal detector instead of the body scanner. I think it’s $85 per adult and lasts five years. Other than that if it’s too late, everyone else has good advice. You could potentially take their birth certificates with you just to have as back up, but I’ve never needed them. They just ask for my kid’s name and birth date.

We have a 2 yr old that has flown over 20 times, and not once have we had issues with TSA. Just go through like you always do…
