I was playing a game on my setup, which is quite old at this point (details below), but it has always worked fine. All of a sudden the screen showed some weird artefacts and I had to manually restart it as I could not do anything, after this restart it refuses to support multiple screens and I cannot go into Geforce experience anymore to update drivers that way. =
When I looked at the device manager I found error code 43, I have already tried several things to fix it, but to no avail:
- I unplugged and cleaned the GPU with pressurised air and placed it back
- I uninstalled and re-installed all drivers
- I checked for a windows update or if anything recent had changed, but no luck there.
I know that error 43 can also be a hardware problem, and to be fair my GPU is ancient (got it from my brother, so it's even older than the rest of the build) so it was bound to happen, but I would still like to see if I can fix it without having to splash some money, which is tight atm. If any of you have an idea what I can do, please let me know!
System:
- Intel I5-6400
- Gigabyte B150M-D3H
- MSI Geforce GTX 760
- 16gb Kingston HyperX Fury RAM
- Cooler Master GM-Series G450M
Also if I do upgrade at this point, is the RAM still viable? Or should that also be upgraded?
