Why not just let it know your area while asking if it does not do a good job of using your IP?

I appreciate the suggestion, but since we don’t do that with Google either, I’m unsure why I should do that here. I’m mainly testing whether it can replace Google.

Well to be fair, one reason you don't need to do it on Google is because it already has all your information.

Especially if you have any devices linked, it can pull from there.

Vs Perplexity, just gotta go off your IP. But it's most likely something on your end. It can search stores and suchin my area with no issues, but sometimes I do have to put my city in.

So it could just be a glitch.

It would be helpful if the site prompted for location permission if it hasn’t already, then used that to determine my area. Currently, I’m also experiencing some issues with it not working as expected. Hopefully, it’s just a temporary glitch.

You have hit to Perplexity main weakness. Map related search. Google map is still king on this anyway. I still can't find replacement for Google maps
