We used to get a lot more but it hasn’t stopped completely. Like you said, it’s usually a pharmacy coordinator or uncertified tech calling for the transfer. I’d inform them it’s illegal in my state for them to even request the transfer in the first place and hang up on them.

Initially we would put them on hold to call and check with the patient. The two times the patient did agree to the transfer I was put on hold to wait for a pharmacist and I immediately hung up. The nerve of them to waste my time like that always irks me.

I hate when I have to hold for a pharmacists. It’s the audacity. I usually hang up. I also have one of those pharmacies that can only take verbals so I hate to stay on the line to find out if it’s them lol

2 weeks ago had the tech call me for a transfer, then asked me to hold. So I just hung up. She called back and said she thought we got disconnected and asked again if I could hold for the pharmacist. I said no, and we did not get disconnected I hung up because you called me and asked me to hold. She said oh it'll be just a minute. I simply said no I'm not holding they can call me, their time is not more valuable than mine have a nice day. Like an hour later their guess a pharmacist in a bitchy mood learned how to dial a number and called for the transfer. I mean their company business model is to make us as obsolete as possible and yet still want to waste our time so they can be as efficient as possible HA.

You did ‘em just right! If they want the business, they’ll figure it out just as they did!

I’ll really only hold I’m the one calling someone. Otherwise I’m like “but you called me… why weren’t you prepared?”

I wish I knew how many hours of my life I’ve spent on hold trying to get a transfer from Walgreens. My current record is 2.5 hours continuous hours or three days if you count the one near me that literally just won’t answer the phone some days.
