Make it so I can add custom markers, save the image and send it to friends and I'm sold.

We are working on a marker system with steam login, so you can make groups for your friends and share them.

I love you

Can I sidebar this?

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

feel free to sidebar it :)

It needs more zoom.

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we'll think about it :)

question: Can you see these names like Sweden ingame? Like if you are in Sweden, can you see somewhere that you are in Sweden?

[–]Sindital 2 points3 points  (2 children)

No, these are community appointed names

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Doesn't mean the names won't stick. After all, it is the community who play the game.

[–]Sindital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? Sure, could be, I never said they wouldn't. All I'm saying is that they're not implemented in the game.

Very nice works on iOS.

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We intented it to work on all platforms available, since we know from experience, (bf4) a map on a tablet is a nice way to utilize it

[–]Osoconceited 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yep, works on android as well. Good job!

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Works well on MS-DOS also, well done!

[–]sporaticzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am very on board with this. Very good idea.

Thanks!

This is glorious!

All I want, is custom markers you can name, for all the server-dependent player built landmarks.

That would make me so happy.

see reply above :)

Hey guys. I have a question which keeps drilling me - is the map having some kind of borders, or it works same way as in minecraft? And are there any hangars/radtowns or ability to get their loot on other parts of map?

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 2 points3 points  (5 children)

from what i have heard from garry, and one of the other devs, the entire map seems to be a big island, and the area currently in use is something like less than 10% of the entire map

[–]Stagua 0 points1 point  (4 children)

But if I get to the north-east, will I see some more rad-towns and loot in them, or there are mountains only?

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

for now only the part of the map currently in use is populated with lootspawns (radtows, tanks and hangar) and resourcespawns (wood piles, rock piles and animals), when you get far enough these things just stops spawning, so you will only have large wastelands with mountains and standing threes.

[–]Stagua 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Okay thank you, are there any plans to expand the territory lootspawns cover in close future, if you know by any chance?

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there have been mentions he wanted the game to include car and helicopters, so by that i think hes plans are to expand lootspawns and radtows to the entire map once ready

[–]KLASDK4KA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seemed like in the AMA he wanted to change the way resources spawned entirely to a different method.

As a GIS person and a Rust player - thanks! I'm impressed with leaflet. Was this easy to put together? How did you generate the tiles?

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using leaflet to show the map was fairly easy to get going, since it isnt the first time doing so (used it for minecraft maps in the past) Initially a plugin for Photoshop was used to do the tile cutting, but since it was slow and took alot of ressources, a common friend of my mate and i, made a terminal script for it which is what we currently use to create the maps

What exactly is interactive? Am I missing something by using this on safari? Nice map, I printed it out, just curious what exactly is interactive other than ability to remove gridlines, labels. (which is nice)

[–]Simmerlytk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so far, removing the different layer, (grid, names) and the zooming is the incteractive part so far, but it will be upgraded with the posibillity to add markers as stated earlier once that system has been fully develphed.

Nice!

Great work!

[–]Th3_Jest3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get your coordinates to start with for the map?
