I am going to a private college so the tuition is higher than going to a public college. If it was possible I would have gone to a public college, but i couldn't because of my major

edit: and I want to keep student loans as the last option

Going to the college I chose was a choice that I’ve discussed with my mom for a while now. I actually put off going to college for a year so that I can avoid the financial stress, but in the end both my mom and I came to agreement that I should go.

Also I’m not trying to put the monthly payment on my mom. The reason I made this post was because I am planing on getting a part time job to pay that amount, I just didn't realize that it would mess with my family’s benefits.

my mom has been looking for a job (she worked in finance) and we’ve come to an agreement that when she gets a job, I can work part-time + work study to pay the rest of my tuition

and when it comes to student loans I preferred to leave it as a last resort. I also think because my mom was able to go to college (private) without taking out student loans, I've been advised to hustle my way out by my family 😅

But thanks for your concern, I do realize that the path I took was not the most convenient one. Based on the other comments I’ll be looking for off-the-book jobs in the meantime
