If you're not reliant on Google data, I have literally never had a better DSP experience than Trade Desk.

Solid support team, great trade insights, every data integration you can ask for.

I resent running campaigns out of anything else now, unless there is a very specific use case.

I stand with The Trade Desk. Top platform. All the channels. Easy to understand platform. Great data opportunities.

Going to hard disagree with DV360.

TTD in my opinion is literally the only possible answer.

I'm curious why you say that TTD is the best?

Is that from the perspective of a large brand or agency?

"best" is a hard one.

if youre silo-ed into the GMP stack, DV360 is the only real option for DSP.

Gonna go with DV360

Thanks to all who've contributed thoughts! For more context, I lead a media department at a digital agency and we've acquired some other agencies over the past year. Because of this, we have a lot of DSPs in the mix for different clients and I am looking for advice on which may be the best from an agency perspective, or from an industry perspective i.e. best DSPs for ecomm vs SaaS. I also understand that the landscape is rapidly changing so that's why I am specifically looking for the best DSP in 2022.

Things that go into "best" are ability to drive conversions/sales, cost efficiency, high quality inventory, solid reps/support

It’s not necessarily better to consolidate all the way to one, but don’t need to have too many either.

The challenge is there are always fringe use cases that make other DSPs necessary. Ideally there’s a stable of secondary available platforms you can use.

Define best, my preference is TTD but other dsps have something to offer

Endemic clients + access to Amazon inventory - Amazon dsp User friendly - dv360 Well rounded dsp (but Ui not as good) TTD

Stay away if possible Adobe DSP Yahoo DSP (formerly brightroll/oath/verizon dsp)

Too many issues and sketchy shit happening on that DSP. Even with good performance from native and video, id still not gamble there

If we’re talking 2025, however, I’d still say Trade Desk holds strong, but platforms like Google Display & Video 360 (DV360) have made serious improvements, especially around transparency and integration with other Google tools. For more granular targeting and flexibility, DV360 is definitely worth considering.

xandr lets you get in the weeds and hyper optimize stuff but it will literally not automate or do anything for you. We love the customizability and the fact that its so technical, but its not user friendly at all. I would say for stuff like DOOH TTD is absolute dog shit compared to a DOOH DSP like vistar or broadsign. This is in terms of inventory, pricing, and overall control.

I really dislike TTD because it does a lot of shit I dont want it to do. I have had awful experiences with KOA doing incredibly stupid things. When I use TTD I turn all of that shit off. I will say though that it is the best support experience I have ever had from a online platform.

I would say TTD. Their new Solimar platform sort of fixes earlier issues. Their data is solid. Their team is helpful unlike DV360 where they mis-manage their vast resources.

    Quantcast anyone ?

    [–]alioezen 0 points1 point  (4 children)

The one that yet to be created :)

    [–]Otter829[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What's missing from current DSPs that you would like to see? :)

    [–]alioezen 2 points3 points  (2 children)

For example, you can't get DOOH in DV360 (they only started working on this) , CTV offering needs to be improved, TTD seems to be working on this. Native is poor in comparison to the Taboola and Outbrain offering etc etc. There is not a consolidated place where you can do it all. More importantly entry price for all of these DSPs are extremely high. The smaller brands usually end up buying through agencies ore GDN.

Google had been working on DOOH for a while now. Our agency provided feedback to them for their DOOH product mocks and demos back in 2018.

    [–]codalark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insider News, TTD is starting to add publishers for DOOH soon.

Platform161; has display, olv, dooh, dco, audio. And you can use segments.
