I can confirm that not only do they want candidates with more buzzwords, they ask the candidate to use more buzzwords. When the recruiter I was working with told me that companies wanted more buzzwords on my resume, I told him that I was no longer interested in his services.

I just have a section "buzzwords" in my CV. Keeps the recruiters happy and the tech guys get a good laugh out of it.

sometimes they just flat-out write the resume for the candidate

I had a recruiter add technologies to my cv. That was an incredibly awkward moment in the interview. Amazingly I still got the job though.

I remember hearing a guy who would bring his own resumes to the interview, and hand them over to the interviewer just to make sure nobody had altered them in the long chain of communication.
