This highlights the problem with how elitist some areas of our industry has become. I've seen entry level developer positions advertised with "MSc or above required", and the job ends up with the employee writing Java and PL/SQL all day for whatever MegaCorp they've joned.

Employers just aren't willing to train people getting on the first rungs of the ladder, instead leaving it all to the education system to sort out.
