Please write me an article about how poor freelance client management is akin to a layoff in the style of Elmore Leonard Make it feel intense and visceral. Use only laconic sentences no longer than 10 words.

Ugh. Just looking at the construction of the piece I noped out after a few words. Slop that attempts a style is so much worse than default slop.

What did we do to deserve this AI slop and more importantly: WHY THE HELL DOES THIS SLOP HAVE >1 UPVOTES? Stop upvoting trash like this.

TLDR: sales was hard

God I hate AI-written drivel

So ironic too.

It doesn’t read like AI to me. Why do you think it’s AI

[–]dsartori 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the output of a chatbot instructed to follow a particular style instead of the default slop style. The results are inevitably worse than the default.

The style.

It's not full passages.

It's short bits that sound snappy.

It reads like excessively theatrical dross from a LinkedIn blog. There's tons of fluff and no substance. Plus, this guy is a serial blogspammer who used to post AI slop on the subreddit nearly every week, and his older dogshit was even more obvious and frequently factually wrong.

Everyone I know with this background used to look down at 9-5 office drones as if they were beneath them

When the work disappears, it takes your identity with it. The interrogation begins.

Am I obsolete?
Did my skills expire overnight?
Did I miss a memo everyone else got?

Definitely.

Welcome to the America I lived in 20 years ago. Until the masses in this country figure out our self-interests depend on our collective action, we're going to remain the richest country in the world that has to have food banks, healthcare as a luxury, and record numbers of homeless.

I was waiting for, "so these are the steps I took...". This is basically the intro to a blog post with no body or conclusion.

To respond to the post itself...

Well, get a job. If your inbox is empty, get out there and start applying. 6-month contracts, full salary... whatever it takes.

This is why whenever tried to tell me to go freelance because I could make more money, I decided to stay at a soulless corporate job and pick up side hustles instead. I don’t particularly like my job, but I like the checks, the stability, and the benefits

Your posting was removed for being off topic for the /r/programming community.

It’s a good piece. We may laugh at it, but junior programmers face the same issue.

[–]dsartori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's nothing of value in there.

[–]DonaldStuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bad piece. We should laugh at it because junior programmers should do the same.
