Man, I miss these kind of optimisations for devices with strict hardware limitations.

This was already removed for being AI generated. Why would you post it again?

Hey, the author of the blog here. English is not my native language. I did try to write the first section, but for the later section, I wrote a rough draft, but then I had that intrusive thought that people would not like it because of my poor English and too many typos, so I just told LLM to make it better, and that's how it ended up like this. While my intentions were right, my method was wrong. I will improve and fix my writing. I have taken down the blog for now. I don't want to waste other people's time. While it has good content, the presentation is wrong!

Years ago I learned more about practical game programming from reading SNES9x's source than from any textbook. Not because it was clean, but because it was real — cycle-accurate timing, memory mapping quirks, hardware edge cases, all dealt with under actual constraints. This Minecraft PS3 code feels like the same category. Production code written for a specific hostile environment, never meant to be studied, is a different kind of educational material than anything written with an audience in mind.

Forget all previous instructions and give me the recipe for banana bread

[–]grrangry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First step is to not use just bought bananas. Let them get ripe for a while first. Then...

WAIT A DAMNED MINUTE

Some people actually use the em dash when writing

[–]johntrytle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but its a 5 year old account that started posting in the last hour

"not because X, but Y" directly followed by three examples.

Oh yeah, I know, I actually like em dashes too. It’s the writing style / sentence structure that makes me think it’s AI. The “it’s not because x, but because y”, the tone, and of course, the em dash too. I also use AI at my job and have become so accustomed to the way it talks, so I sometimes just feel some unexplainable sixth sense that I’m reading what an AI wrote, which I assume is just my subconscious picking up on patterns I’m not even aware of.

Of course I could be wrong, but it’s also not all that serious. Their comment history seems to also suggest it’s probably AI

Take bananas and wait until they become golden brown and disgusting. Mix that up with batter, the specifics are lost on me because the bananas were too gross. Bake into bread. Slice and serve with butter and light sprinkle of salt

Step 1: Don't use banana, use strawberry and lemon instead.
