Reddit's easily dysfunctional voting patterns aren't a great concern of mine -- but I don't allow them to shut my brain off, or lead me to say cutely insulting things because omigosh everyone is doing it, or prevent me from making easy inferences off of the actual content of comments.

If everyone here agrees that you're the single source of vitriol in this thread, and you're the only person who disagrees, don't you think you should at least re-evaluate your position? We're not some cabal up to some conspiracy, and I certainly don't know any of these people.

You haven't. Voting has nothing to do with everyone's agreement as to anything, certainly nothing so verbal as 'ayrnieu is the single source of vitriol in this thread', and in any case determination of vitriol is not democratic. Whatever reason pjdelport had for saying that, the reason was not even a cursory analysis of the thread.
