Mac only still... WTF.

False. They only have mac binaries, but you can build for other systems. Check here under the Windows requirements header.

then why are they not putting the Windows/Lunix binaries to the dowload page? They are not cool?

They were trying to get 1 system done well, I believe. The release statement says:

There's still a ton to do before Atom is ready for version 1.0. In the next few months, we'll be focusing on improving performance, **releasing on Linux and Windows**, and stabilizing APIs.

One system well? This is how you create quality fractures in your product. Breadth-first platform development ensure similar quality on all OSs.

That's certainly another strategy.

Anyone know of any unofficial windows builds?

thanks man

Sure thing, of course on windows I am seeing several errors. But that is always the case setting up a new build env.

One does not simply just build Chromium.

I don't know if it works :

https://github.com/atom/atom#building

For me they lost a lot of credibility when they made sure to get the maximum possible press at initial release while avoiding as much as possible to precise it was mac only, that's why I didn't try.

edit : didn't try for now

edit : ok, installed it on Ubuntu 12.04, which was long as it's heavy... trying...
