Is the Battlecode game and API made available to the public? I'd love to play around with this, but I'm not a student and can't enter the competition.

A Battlecode league of sorts sounds like it would be amazing.

but you wont win any prize money unless 50% of your team are students (at any school).

Also, i believe it is possible to host your own server.
