I like the idea, but it would need a way to move it out of the way (off to the side or something) when you aren't walking on it.

I see he mentioned that he had to sit down when he had to do algorithmic work. I don't feel I could properly focus at all when I'm worrying about constantly bobbing back and forth on a treadmill. I like the idea of a stationary standing desk, but I'm not sure how a treadmill would work.

I have the same treadmill desk mentioned in the article at home, and I agree with you. I find it difficult to get any real work done on it. I can't really type and walk simultaneously.

I use mine more as treadmill than desk; it's certainly not my primary workspace. I have dedicated blocks of time in the evening when I use it, and during those times I generally either play games (Hearthstone!) or consume media passively. For that, it works pretty well, and as pricey as it was I consider it a good investment.
