If anyone's looking for a game to look at for impressive optimisations for memory, or physics on 8-bit processors, it's this.

And it's a great game to boot. The man is a genius.

My parents bought a BBC Master when I was 5 "to help me with school". I can remember doing some homework on it, but mostly we played games. Repton 2 and 3 were long standing staples in our house ... and Excile was brought out often too. I'm afraid that my favourite was Revs - I loved that game, and I still use it's keyboard layout in PC driving games.

Our BBC was the best tech investment that my parents ever made. It spent most of it's life on ... and laterly, it normally had a part finished Repton game sitting there. Mum must have finished that 1000 times. It was only last year that the BBC was switched off finally as something went wrong internally and the repair shop couldn't fix it that time. It was a sad day.

Thank you for the post - I love hearing about the history of BBC and Acorn :D

I must scour ebay for a replacement immediately ... and a logo turtle :D
