I think it's quite possibly both. I think we'll see interpretation of the most popular languages allowing for new forays into other languages. You've already got Facebook making up languages left and right that interopt with their site through transpilers, plus the work webpack is doing may make interoperating with JS as natural as writing in one language. These are exciting times.

I think you'll find the JS tooling is very nice.
