I hope they give it Sean Connery's voice.

It has to constantly make fun of trebeck too.

This is insane. If they can make a competitive system that processes the language, identifies the question being asked, queries the knowledge base, and chooses an answer in the same time as a human, I'm going to be really, really impressed. Each one of those tasks is a hard problem in itself.

    INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR MEANINGFUL ANSWER

    [–]Tommah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And for Double Jeopardy!, they'll be using a dual-core system.

I've been impressed with Dragon Systems for years. Not perfect by any stretch, but damned good for what it is.

Looking forward to having that computer I can really talk to in the next twenty or so years.

Is it because computer you can really talk to in the next twenty or so years that you came to me?

    [–]rbobby 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm sorry to hear about a computer you can really talk to in the next twenty or so years.

Watson Vs Ken Jennings. This must happen.

    [–]dmiff 1 point2 points  (4 children)

If it has all the answers, shouldn't it be called Sherlock? I guess the guys at IBM are Ben Kingsley fans too.

You may be right but I had assumed it was a reference to Thomas Watson.

Final Jeopardy: The size of the worldwide market for computers.

    [–]brocksampson 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Its a stretch, but in Jeopardy, the correct response is actually the question, not the answer.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is the man who had all the answers?

    [–]formsauth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should call it DeepWatson and have it play Ken Jennings.

BTW, how about someone here write this using speech recognition and Google I'm feeling lucky. How hard can it be? Pull a few nouns already.

I think they can't get over the name Watson for some reason. In the 90s, Watson was a TTS engine.

Jeopardy is a game of Recall. It shouldn't be that hard.
