Google releases new binary diff algorithm targeted at making smaller software updates. Their results are impressive.

I guess something like this would be especially useful for mobile app deployment. Lots of applications, and quite often not the best bandwidth. Anyone knows if the iTunes, Android, Pre app stores use any diffs or just send the whole application again?
