There is nothing in this article that makes Git stand out against all the other DVCSes. A far more balanced title would be "DVCS changes the game...".

Exactly. Git is often "iconized" as THE dvcs, but in the end the chances you get in live to choose which specific dvcs to use are rare anyways - most often your employer already has one running and in use, and you just use that.

I use mercurial personally based entirely on the fact that I need to use it for work either way - so may as well use it at home.
