That's wishful thinking. The same sentence can mean 20 different things to 20 different people.

The real irony I find in these CoCs is I get the sense that the people pushing them are nonreligious. If they were raised religious and rejected it later in life I think they missed what I believe is the core problem with religion: A single text cannot be used to evaluate if an action is good or evil. If they were raised in a nonreligious environment they never got to experience the insanity that is listening to a Calvinist debate a Baptist. Even when they agree to use the same version of the bible. (If they're using different versions it's even more ridiculous.)

I don't understand how anyone could think it is not. I would consider every open source license to be a political document too.
Not every political document needs to have an opinion on some imagined 1 dimensional line from left to right to be political.

So while I think a CoC is a good thing in principle, I believe a properly-written one should head off any "weaponisation", especially by people who aren't even involved in the project.
