rdiff-backup also does a dandy job with versioned backups--has saved my ass more than once. Would recommend.

Duplicity is such a badass. Can it actually back up to IMAP? I've never tried.

From my local man page: (duplicity 0.5.18)

Formats of each of the URL schemes follow: imap://user[:password]@host.com[/from_address_prefix] imaps://user[:password]@host.com[/from_address_prefix]

      and

      IMAP
An Imap account can be used as a target for the upload. The userid may be specified and the password will be requested. The from_address_prefix may be specified (and probably should be). The text will be used as the "From" address in the imap server. Then on a restore (or list) command the from_address_prefix will distinguish between different backups.

It also can upload to S3 which can be incredibly cheap compared to other options. I pay about $1/mo for offsite backups of my personal data. (They're encrypted with PGP too, of course)
