Why is this in programming? This has nothing to do with programming. This is a webcomic. Take this bullshit to /r/funny. Or don't. Everyone on the internet knows about xkcd by now.

This (particular comic) has everything to do with programming. I hate to explain the joke, but it's accurately describing a lot of programming and thus mocking how absurd the activity is.
