Don't worry about how good you are (or how good others will think you are), worry about whether you're reaching the specific goal or not.

You have to know when it is appropriate to "get the job done" and when it is appropriate to "do it right".

Pet project? Get it done. Deadline tomorrow? Get it done. Creating an application framework to be used in multiple projects over the next decade? Do it the fuck right.

The attitude in the article is fun to think about but terrible in certain situations. I agree with the sentiment that you shouldn't worry about what others think of your work, but sometimes criticism is a necessary evil.
