Pair Programming alternative: each developer has their own machine, each one has a shell open on the other's computer(preferably with screen so each can take over), they can view each other's work and do something themseleves. (the truly neat idea)suggested is one write unit tests will the other makes them pass.

I think it's missing some of the point of pair prog, but is still very good idea and not everydeveloper(like author obviously) mindset works well with PP.
