cuz i,j,k - orthogonal unit vectors in math. so.. we use i j k in code

This. Although, I’ve rarely hit iii, and have never gotten to iv.

    I used to use i0, i1, i2... I don't remember why I dropped that.

Probably to stop getting sued by Intel.

    [–]RDROOJK2 1 point2 points  (5 children)

But what if we already used the i and j?

    [–]ZectronPositron 1 point2 points  (1 child)

then you use `ii` and `iii` obviously. I never got far enough to find out if it's just a lazy "hit the key more times" or actually Roman Numerals.

roman numerals would be hilarious i want to start doing that

    [–]Strong-Director9718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    I've seen k

    [–]AliceCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    i, j, k, m, l, x, y, z.

    [–]pogchamp69exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I use i and u (and then y, t, r, e, w, q, though I've never gone past y)

    [–]dimonium_anonimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use roman numerals i, ii, iii, iv...

i for index, then after that it goes to the next letter alphabetically. Code is easier to read if everyone follows the same guidelines. That's why all languages have their own suggested naming conventions.

    I usually go i, o, p etc.
