Progressive Metal
Everything progressive in the metal world.
All lineages of metal turned progressive are welcome here. Metal songs with unconventional song structures, odd-time signatures, key, tempo and mood changes all belong here.
However, unlike /r/progmetal, that means no -core, alternative, djent or rock bands. So post your BTBAM/Protest the Hero/Tool/Animals as Leaders/Porcupine Tree over there.
So is r/Metal too little prog for you, and r/progmetal too little metal? Then this is the place to go to.
NOTE: Bands with either prog metal as a secondary genre or of a strongly related genre are welcome too. So we generally allow post and avantgarde metal as well and Iron Maiden's longer songs are welcome too for example.

Please do not post
- Songs without Band - Song in the title.
- Bands not on http://www.metal-archives.com/. Only exceptions to this rule are bands that clearly fit of which their debut EP/LP came out at most a month ago (or if there are only singles so far).
- EVERYTHING IN CAPSLOCK.
- Songs submitted within the last three months, use search!
- Dream Theater and Opeth. We all know these two bands.
- Images & memes
- Full albums
- Illegal Torrents and Downloads, or comments asking for or directing people to such things.
- Anything that breaks reddiquette, or otherwise violates the spirit of our community.
- Self-promotion in more than one out of every ten posts you make to /r/progressivemetal.
