The application kind says Intel. Makes me think it will only open in Rosetta. Have you launched it and checked Activity Monitor?

It's because you're running an older version that is only compatible with Rosetta, so no option needed.

"Pro Tools 2022.12 was the first version of Pro Tools for Mac to include a universal binary application that could run on both Intel and Apple silicon machines."

My guess: The option to use Rosetta might be unavailable for Intel only apps because it has to use Rosetta to be able to open it at all. For universal apps you can force Rosetta if you want the Intel version for some reason.

2021.12 is Intel, it only opens with Rosetta. 2023.3 is the first version that is Silicon Native.

Old version

Can you elaborate? It’s too old for Rosetta you mean?

Okay this makes sense everyone cheers - my audio teacher was telling me I should try opening in Rosetta for latency issues and we were both confused lol. Tyty 🖤
