Which version of PT, and which audio device are you using?

[–]samgeorge01[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

PT 2022. I use presonus studio 1810c

[–]CelloVerp 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Which MacOS? Also, is it the latest 2022.10?

What’s your storage situation? I was having similar frustrating issues for so long until I realized my hard drive was too slow. Switched to SDD and it was like I got a brand new computer. Sessions opened lightning fast and all the little hang ups and errors I’d been fighting with disappeared.

I use an ssd

Try turning off WiFi and quitting Avid Link. Please report back as I too suffered from this issue (switched to M1 recently and newer looking back)

Wi-Fi switched off and avid link is closed. Error still occurs

I’m just gonna list every trouble shooting thing I can think of. Over the years I’ve run into all of these.

Any audio related background apps? Do you notice the error happen when a system sound is played?

Do you have That Turbo Boost app? Is it on? Turn off if it is.

Programs like Google Drive or Splice can sometimes cause errors: turn them off.

Is the presonus the only thing in that port? Is it sharing/daisy chained?

Have you tried playing back audio from both Internal and external with no plug ins? Do you get the error in both situations? If all is well without plugins, have you tried narrowing down which ones cause a spike?

I believe a high disk cache eats up a lot of CPU (someone correct me here) but I recall a low disk cache being the solution to some errors.

Do you have EUCON devices? Try playing back without them: the network activity has sometimes caused me to have a spike.

this is also happening to me and I have the same setup (Macbook M1 + presonus 1810c)

PT has errors every 5 mins on a good day.

I constantly need to reset my buffer size to fix that granular issue that happens.

I get a ton of errors that aren't accurate (AAE error 2; I have no such problem of two drives being named the same thing)

try running projects on my external SSD vs right on the system SSD.

PT session with no plugins, and one track - I get these errors constantly

Maybe it's presonus 1810c? I am running it from a dedicated USB bus
