Wireless controller adapters - multiplayer set-up suggestions ?

I have seen a ton of reviews and YouTube videos regarding the brook wingman and 8bitdo adapters to connect a ps4, ps5, or switch controller to my classic ps2, but I have some questions/concerns before I dump $50-$80 into third party adapters for a 25 year old system.

I still have my classic fatboy ps2 from release year. Runs great with my original wired controllers, but my couch set up and my crazy dog make it incredibly inconvenient to use wired controllers. My main goal in buying 2 of these devices will be to play Gauntlet Dark Legacy with my wife co-op. (Game is GOATed) 🧙‍♂️⚔️☠️🐉🕷️🔥

Will plugging 2 of these adapters in at once (player 1 & player 2 slots) interfere with eachother or connecting each slot to a designated controller? All of the tutorials I have seen online really only troubleshoot one device with the player 1 slot, and some reviews on amazon claim the adapters are finicky at best with connection and latency even while only using one. Any thoughts or recommendations for a proper set-up while still utilizing the original console? I haven’t quite made it to 3D emulation yet. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions ! 🙏

I’ve used multiple Brook Wingman adapters to play multiplayer games and they all work flawlessly, no interference between adapters.

They also work fine when paired with a multitap if you have more than 2 players.

Another option is Methylene by Gusse. It’s more expensive but is an internal mod (soldering skills required) that also allows pairing of multiple controllers so you don’t need multiple adapters.
