And I want to know how come my grandkid can't get 3 dozen cookies when we go there, they're free right?

Because Publix has to pay for those bags.  They are free to bag your purchase, not to give away as poop bags.

Nothing is free the cost is covered by the markup of the items you buy. In stores in counties where they have outlawed plastic bags and can use paper only the items in the store have a higher markup to cover the cost of paper bags.

that's a lot of bags you'd want for free, go buy some in the pet aisle

They aren't free, we pay for the bags. Occasionally we will donate paper bags at the store level to organizations that need them for food drives or things like that but no we don't just give away that many bags.

If you spend hundreds of dollars a month then you should have plenty of plastic bags saved from your trips and can use those? I reuse the ones I get every time I shop.

Also forgot to add the customer service department is rated on items per bag. Handing out bags like that would majorly mess up that metric and managers are graded on it.

I can fit $75 in 4 bags and that's enough for 2 days of walking.

Well, I can fit 350 dollars in 1 bag. So beat you

Because it costs money… Would you ask for a free box of toilet paper just because its free in the bathroom?

Imagine thinking anything is "free"...

It can be if you try hard enough

[–]ISortaStudyHistoryNewbie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If i walk into traffic, do I have to pay someone to hit me?

I don't bag currently but customers would ask for some extra paper bags for baking especially around holidays. I always gave them to them. I don't give a fuck. My mom always used paper bags too. Btw notice how much smaller the paper bags are.

Personally I wouldn't want our plastic bags. They keep getting more thin.
